If you havent noticed by now..the once rare armors like obsidian, and then chaos gloves..and more now of bandanas i guess..all seem to be like that everyone has them now (go to any major town/outpost: LA,Kamadan,KC..), and look around you lol.

Like the only armor that seems to cost a lot is Obsidian, even then..its not that hard to get, I think it would be kinda cool to see some new elite armor come out..and be pretty sick too, like if they did chaos gloves+primeval+bandana..but like you know came out with some new armor all together that was 1-extremely hard to get..example-like r4 in KOABD or like for all those gw junkies- beat all 3 campaigns and EOTN, something hard..and 2-cost a lot, like A LOT so that not everyone can just get it like armor in gw seems to be like now

Doubt it will happen with GW2 and all..but still it'd be pretty cool if ANet could do it..as they have added Z-Quests, Codex Arena, Zaishen Mangerie lately lol

First off, what do you consider "alot of money"? Also, soon enough, everyones gonna have this super duper awesome armor set to. Unless theres certian requirements, lets say r5 koabad. Or, have to do like the hardest dam quest in the world, maybe fight lich, shiro, abbadon, the great destroyer, and lots of other boss's at the same time, and they would have enhanced new builds...not only would that be hard but hella fun, have it so you cant use any pve skills or consets, make it a real challenge, ban a few skills like mist form, shadow form, VoS, or have the builds change everyday like codex and have skills you can choose from

We haven't had new armor since Nightfall, I wouldn't expect more any time soon.

While I would like a set of new and even more expensive armor, the problem is it takes an artist to create. And from I understand, all their artists are working on GW2 and whenever they do get an artist, I don't think they have time to make 10 sets of armor.

Okay OP so they raise the bar again...this time maybe make it cost 5x(10x?) what Obsidian currently crafts for. I guarantee you within minutes of discovery someone would be screaming bloody murder about elitism and unfairness. It's all about keeping up with the Joneses and always has been.

Besides, everyone knows the real way to show off your e-peen is to blow hundreds of ectos on a portrait of your character from one of our Nolani artists, amirite?

Except don't, because if you're complaining about the devaluing of your formerly-rare-but-still-tasteless combination (that basically covers most Fow/Primeval accented with any EotN gloves or hats), your character is hideous and we don't want to draw him.

It's not that we don't have elite armour in game.

It's that it has become a lot more accessible as the game has aged.

Obsidian armour used to be THE exclusive armour back in the day.

Forget about measuring your e-peen and just play the game.

What? If they add new armor everyone is just going to use their stacks of ectos they have to buy it easy...

Armour given as a reward for grinding is a stupid idea. I'd far rather see armour as a reward for storyline accomplishments (Primeval, for example, granted to players who complete Nightfall, and Elite Canthan for those who complete Factions) and no more expensive/title-requiring than any other set. I don't care if you can't derive e-peen from a system like that; maybe at least you could start making your character look good instead of looking like this:

I can't believe the "I WANT THIS" spoilt attitude... We've got plenty of armors in the game. Its down to a matter of personal preference which one you get really. Yet still i can't hold you back for wanting FOW because its the most expensive and rather you dont like its looks - hey some people want alot of things because its name or money value rather than what it looks in real life.
You got any idea how much the devs would have to go through to add new armors....even just one. Is it really worth this?
I admit i would love certain armors in the game from NPCs but how is this a priority....the same thing would jsut happen again, the problem you think that is with FOW etc. Everyone will see it as a must have makign it the most popular armor in game and everyone will be sick of seeing it, thus making it a waste.

1.The game's 4-1/2 years old and there are lots of people been playing that long, so they've been able to easily amass the amount of gold required to get the most expensive armor.

2. Obsidian armor costs about 1/2 (maybe less) what it did a couple years ago (pre-ursan SCs & UW scrolls)

3. As long as A-Net continues to ignore the main problem associated with farmers in the UW (SF), people will continue to farm the crap out of it, driving ecto prices lower, making obsidian armor ever easier to get.

4. Same goes with dungeon running - the more it's done, the more gems (diamonds, rubies, etc.) get pumped into the economy, making elite armors that require those things cheaper as well.

5. If there were new elite armor sets introduced, it wouldn't take long for them to be a common sight around town as any other armor because there are many people who are maxed out in plat and resort to ectoes/armbraces to hold their wealth.

and if they were to add new armors at all, they wouldn't have title type requirements because everyone would bitch to no end -_-

Ugh what is it with people 'thinking' they need to be the only one with a certain elite set, in order for it to be cool and special? So what if someone else has black obbi, so what if someone else has green chaos gloves. If you like it, then get it, dont get armor to make yourself look and feel like some elitist. Get it because you enjoy it.

Hell, ArenaNet could reskin an armour set, make it look really ugly, and then make it really expensive. And y'know what? It'd be all the rage.

Love the idea

1 new armour type for all classes accessable from an armourer in the underworld call it Dhuum armour.
Special materials to make them, said materials much rarer than ectos and price ten times that of other elite armours.

I just want to see how long it takes someone to get a set of dumb sry Dhuum armour
